Legacy Families and Scholarships

A Duquesne education is a tradition in many families, with grandparents, parents, children and siblings sharing the unique Duquesne experience. If you are part of such a legacy family, watch for special events throughout the year designed just for you.

If you would like to extend your Duquesne heritage to new generations, visit the Admissions Office to learn more about requirements and procedures.

Children and grandchildren of alumni may qualify for Alumni Association Endowed Scholarships:

Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
(Need-Based):
Through the generosity of countless alumni and friends, Duquesne University has created the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship to help qualified children, stepchildren and grandchildren of alumni make their dream of a Duquesne University education possible. This scholarship is granted annually to qualified applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be the child, stepchild or grandchild of a Duquesne University graduate
  • Have an overall high school QPA/GPA of at least 2.00
  • Demonstrate financial need (a University financial aid application and a FASFA form must be completed by May 1 for the upcoming academic year)

Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship for Merit:
Created to assist children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of Duquesne University graduates who demonstrate high academic achievement, this scholarship also helps Duquesne compete with other colleges and universities for students with the best high school records, the highest SAT scores, and the greatest academic promise. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be the child, stepchild or grandchild of a Duquesne University graduate
  • Enroll at Duquesne as a full-time freshman in 2009-2010 academic year
  • Demonstrate high academic merit throughout high school
